It all started with holy cannoli, a limited batch flavor that launched in 1997. You remember 1997: the era of tiny sunglasses, platform shoes, and a certain movie about a big boat that had an unfortunate encounter with an iceberg. But even though holy cannoli was not long for freezer shelves, it lived on in the hearts and dreams of ice cream fans. So in 2012, we gave in to our fans and brought it back as cannoli. And it was so popular that we had to extend its limited availability to keep up with demand. You’d think we’d have learned by then: people love cannolis, and people really love cannoli ice cream. But no, we didn’t learn. We yanked it from shelves, and only now are rectifying what could be referred to as the greatest ice cream travesty of the last 20 years. So now we make amends to you, dear cannoli lovers. Take this pint as a symbol of our love for you and your exacting tastes. The best part? It’s here to stay, unlike those tiny sunglasses.
